Low Mass Companions for Five Solar-Type Stars from the Magellan Planet Search Program

Interestingly the linear trend previously reported for HD 28185 does not seem to have been confirmed.

Pretty good catch of planets for the week. I haven't read the paper yet, but if the HD 28185 data here was taken at a different time than the data that was discovered with, then perhaps there'll be sufficient data to draw more conclusions about a possible second planet in the system.

The fit for the HD 111232 data from this paper is made with 15 measurements, whereas the previous fit is made with 38. Perhaps the previous fit can be considered more accurate?

I tried fitting the HD 28185 data in systemic and found that the JD values in the table are incorrect (in case the paper gets updated in the future, I am referring to v1): they appear to be JD-2452000 instead of JD-2450000. I haven't investigated to find out whether this affects all of the tables in the paper. The time spanned by the combined datasets is about 2600 days. It appears there may be a curved residual to the data, suggesting a second planet, assuming of course there is no systematic drift in one of the RV datasets or the other.

Yeah, I, too, found issues with fitting in the HD 28185 data.
