A misc subforum? Empty
PostSubject: A misc subforum?   A misc subforum? Empty1st November 2008, 11:29 pm

For some time, I have wondered if we need a miscellaneous sub-forum. Just a few minutes ago, I went to www.arxiv.org and found that I got this message.

Sadly, you do not currently appear to have permission to access
http://arxiv.org/

If you believe this determination to be in error, see
http://arxiv.org/denied.html for additional information.

I wished to make a thread on this site asking if anyone else was having issues with accessing the arXiv website, but realised that there is no subforum here to do that in. We'd probably have to set some rules for it. Allow discussions on manned spaceflight? for example.

That might be a good idea. There's bound to always be something that will come up which has everyone's interest, but which never fits in anywhere else.

We should probably be careful that it doesn't become to much of a "freeforall" subforum if you will though. Misc things are great but at the same time we might wanna define what should and shouldn't go where and why.

Yes, definitely.
