Unless any planet around Proxima Centauri is certainly detected...

Yeah, it says the next update to the EPE will be tomorrow.

According to the paper, the separation between the planet and its host star make it an excellent candidate for astrometric determination of the orbit inclination. Perhaps in the somewhat near future, direct imaging might be possible.

Ah come on, there's a second new discovery as well - new super-Earth around Gliese 176... (granted at the cost of the loss of a hot Neptune)...

Only a correction in previous data. Not a newly detected planet.

All these surveys, projects claiming to be able detecting plethora of low mass planets, super Earths et cetera start sounding "bankruptcy"....

I may be satisfied if next week's going to bring a 12 of new planets.
But it's quite surreal...

Metal poor eh? So that probably means it's full of gaseous or frozen planets and probably doesn't have much thats very close to it.

From what I've been able to gather, gas planets tend to form in metal-rich disks, whereas terrestrial planets don't seem to really care what the metallicity is.

In the PHL criteria this is a mesoplanet. The habitable zone is different for different teams.

A bizarre paper. And maybe I just haven't had enough sleep. But the point seems to be that there's a stable region between the two detected planets, and they can't rule out a terrestrial planet in the area with the current RV data, ergo the planet exists. Originally I wasn't going to post it but the stability analysis might have some value.
