So would this object be a planet? Or a brown dwarf?

It seems that it's becoming apparent with what few A-type systems we now know, as well as results from evolved A-type stars, that such stars seem to have very massive protoplanetary disks.

EPE lists AB Aur as having an age of 2 Gyr, I thought it was 0.2 Gyr? I'm unfamiliar with the lifespans of the various spectral-types, but do 2.4 solar-mass stars even survive for 2 Gyr?
