My list

first transit SuperEarth
http://exoplanet.eu/planet.php?p1=CoRoT-7&p2=b
http://exoplanet.eu/planet.php?p1=GJ+1214&p2=b

GJ 581e -- with a minimum mass of 1.9 M_earth
http://exoplanet.eu/planet.php?p1=Gl+581&p2=e

potentially the first planetary system with a yellow dwarf star discovered photographically
http://exoplanet.eu/star.php?st=Gj+758

Nearest planetary system in the yellow dwarf
http://exoplanet.eu/star.php?st=61+Vir

the least dense planet
http://exoplanet.eu/star.php?st=WASP-17

planet with the smallest orbital period
http://exoplanet.eu/star.php?st=WASP-19

transit planet with the greatest orbital period
http://exoplanet.eu/star.php?st=HD+80606

But about the other two I do not know. Most important exoplanets discoveries in 2009 - top10 Icon_question

QS Vir b -> First planet orbiting a cataclysmic binary.
HW Vir b and c perhaps.

While not the first transiting superEarth, Gliese 1214 b is of astounding importance. It and its atmospheric properties are readily accessible to modern telescopes, and this planet, not CoRoT-7 b, will be the first true data mine about extrasolar super-Earths.

Wasn't the HW Vir system announced in 2008?

I guess the HAT-P-13 system should be in there, as should the discovery of extremely misaligned/retrograde orbits for the planets around WASP-17 and HAT-P-7.

Yes you're right.

Also, HARPS performed admirably as well. ~Doubling the previous year's count for a third consecutive year.
