Bad news for Alpha Centauri B

Previously, a study of planet formation around Alpha Centauri A concluded that planet formation in the habitable zone was unlikely, however the paper cautioned that the results couldn't be generalised to Alpha Centauri B.

Here's the Alpha Centauri B study.

Results: only the very innermost part of the habitable zone is favourable for planetary formation, unless the binary started out with different parameters.

That's certainly a disappointment.
Non-M dwarf nearby systems:
Alpha Centauri -- Now seems unlikely to host habitable planets.
Sirius -- Out of the question.
Eps Eri -- Too young?
Procyon -- Out of the question.
61 Cygni?

If there is ever a manned interstellar mission to settle a habitable planet, it might be that they'll have to travel much farther than 4.5 ly. Still, there's a lot of stars within 15 light years. I'm sure that there'll be something interesting.

I guess with today's limited knowledge, Eps Eri looks like the best choice for an interstellar probe.

Soo the centauri system is probably devoid of any habitable planets......would that make it empty or full of asteroids or what?
