Retired A Stars and Their Companions. III. Comparing
the Mass-Period Distributions of Planets Around A-Type Stars and
Sun-Like Stars

http://arxiv.org/abs/0912.0518

The frequency of Jupiter sized planets is higher than is solar type stars.

From the abstract:
Quote :
Thus, the properties of planets around A stars are markedly different than those around Sun-like stars, suggesting that only a small (~ 50%) increase in stellar mass has a large influence on the formation and orbital evolution of planets.

I'd suggest to merge this discussion into this topic:

https://solar-flux.forumotion.com/extrasolar-news-and-discoveries-f2/preliminary-announcement-of-two-new-planets-around-subgiants-t451.htm

It's weird nobody here has noticed two planets announced around HD 200964 and 24 Sextantis. Weren't you hungry of planet?? Laughing
