PostSubject: Re: 50 New Planets from HARPS    50 New Planets from HARPS - Page 2 Empty12th September 2011, 6:37 pm

HD 215152 looks unstable... is there a resonance here?

HD 20781... is the stellar companion to the planet host HD 20782?
Does this represent a binary star system with planetary companions to both components? (HD 41004 is a bit hazy as far as being such an example is concerned).

HD 136352 = ν2 Lupi.

Neutral Question

It does. Neither the more nearby 16 Cygni system is (or seems) so.

Another nearby Solar-like star, close to our Sun, along with HD 38858. Very Happy

HD 215152 looks unstable... is there a resonance here? Definetely is 3:2 .NO alpha centauri planets because both stars approaches each other as close as 11.2AU-could be reason simply prevented of creations

We don't know that yet. Some simulations predict formation of planets around Alpha Cen B.

I know is not ruled out but close coexistence both stars can make it disrupted or more difficult to create

I suggest to shift this to Major HARPS thread, since they are announced in Mayor et al. (2011) HARPS paper

Not all of them are that eccentric.... just saying.

HD 114386 c for example has an e of 0.06.

Am I wrong here or is HD 65216 the first example of a multiplanet system in a triple star system? SIMBAD lists it as being the primary of a triple system, with a distant M+L binary.

About 150 if I recall right (I think that was the number given in one of the ESO @ 50 videos Lazarus linked to).

Yea, I know that. I was thinking about precise number. But I guess it's impossible to count so I'm gonna say 160 during lecture.
