If I knew the answer, I will say it, but personally I don't know who's the creator of this picture. ;D

Just in time, I have anything to do tomorrow.
More seriously, what does it make to know that one of your pictures is on the front page of Wikipedia ?

Have you considered creating earthlike satellites, along with the others? This is an idea I have had since I found Celestia. A good one would be 16 Cyg B b, as this one was featured in "Alien Planets" on NG. It's an eccentric jupiter that passes through the habitable zone between mercury and jupiter's orbit in 26 months. It would be neat to have apropriate textures for the earth-moon(s) during it's exaggerated, freeze - boil seasons with balmy days twice a year.

I know NuclearVacuum has tried something. At the moment I have displayed only stand-alone gas planets as "artistic rendering".
Maybe further works could account Earth-like moons Wink

The substellar companion of ULAS 1416 (or ULAS J141623.94+134836.3). Among its neighbours, it has Arcturus at 11 light years away.

Not a relevant thread bump, but a curious Celestia effect.
I had a random cataclysmic variable generated in two different stc files (same orbital parameters and coordinates). What I had got back is this slightly overluminous system with suggestive effect:

Edasich's Work - Page 4 ACataclysmicVariable

Is it an impression of mine, or does the degenerate system show the secondary as tidally distorted (apparently) as it should really be?

The error has been fixed, but the effect looks cool to me. Smile

Background star. Try looking at it from a different angle in Celestia.

Well there is no code in Celestia that renders tidal distortion (yet...), so this cannot be the explanation.

What I mean tidal distortion is not rendered. I was only pointing that the snapshot I took looks like showing the secondary star (the red dwarf) apparently distorted. Apparently.

Hah.
I've been seeing your work on Wikipedia.

Hey, I have a hard time getting this request done.
So, I'll request it to you, if you don't mind.

Can you display a pic of a water giant, but viewed from the backside while the star is in front. Thus you will see most of the gas giant's shadow. And then make white sparks on the back as lightning. Since we know that Jupiter sparkles in the back from lightning from Voyager pics or data...

I would assume that water giants would be more energetic than ammonia giants, but no science is based on my assumtion. :/

Agreed. I also suspect the rings should be near edge-on to have evaded detection. But it's beautiful, regardless! Smile

After Easter Thread Bump. Some exotic planetary systems I hope you like. Edasich's Work - Page 4 Icon_albino

- The white dwarf GD 356 and its iron planet.

Edasich's Work - Page 4 GD356IronPlanet

Edasich's Work - Page 4 IronPlanet

- The neutron star NGC 6440 X-2 and its planetary(?) companion.

Edasich's Work - Page 4 PulsarPlanet

- The pulsar PSR B1828-11 and its quark planet. It's not easy to imagine how does nearly a "dwarf-planet" (0.15 Lunar masses) made of quark look. How about?

Edasich's Work - Page 4 PSRB1828-11QuarkPlanet

- Epsilon Aurigae system. Dense dust disk enshrouding the hidden companion star.

Man, this is a great work ! The PSR B1828-11 system always fascinated me, and taking a look at your artist's rendering fascinates me even more. I particularly like the atmosphere of the planet.
About GD 356, I have a question: what is the spot above the star ?

Bye, Sedna

I think a planetary nebula. Sometimes they look oversized in Celestia according to the add-on Rolling Eyes.
